Do I need an nanny?
Do you need help at home with looking after the child(ren)? If yes, then a Nanny may be just what you want.
Nannies provide a high standard of childcare, including feeding, changing nappies, collecting children from school/nursery, help related to after-school activities, and general care of the children’s welfare. Some Nannies are also required to drive in order to carry out some of their duties, such as dropping off/collecting children from school or after-school activities.

What are Nannies?
A Nanny is a Children’s Nurse specially trained in child-care. Amongst the most recognised ‘Nanny’ qualifications are the NNEB, BTEC courses in caring, City Guilds 365, NAMCW and NVQs. However, apart from Nannies with formal qualifications A1 KidsCare UK also provide Nannies without qualifications but who have worked in the child sector for a number of years and have great experience with children of all ages.

How much a Nannie cost?
Nannies’ wages vary according to a number of factors such as experience, qualifications and number of working hours. To simplify the selection criteria, we group our Nannies into three different categories: Nannies, Starter Nannies, and Mother’s Helps (please refer to table below).

Wages (Nett)

* Wages here refer to Live-out Nannies. A Nanny living with the family, sharing tasks and leisure activities on the same basis as the family members does not need to be paid the national minimum wage, and the employer family does not need to make tax and National Insurance Contribution payments on her behalf. However, she can still pay voluntary National Insurance Contributions.

**If the above criteria do not match your requirements, please go to Au-Pair or Baby-Sitting Service.

Insurance
(employer families living in the UK)
As the employer of a Live-out Nanny, the family is required to obtain the Nanny's National Insurance Number from the Nanny and is responsible for her National Insurance Contributions and Income Tax Deductions. Call the Employers Helpline on 0345 143 143 for friendly advice.

Alternatively, you may wish to use our payroll service, which will for a fee take complete care of your Nanny's National Insurance Contributions and Income Tax Deductions for you. Please request further information on 0121 622 5671.

It is advisable that the family takes out an Employer's Liability Policy to cover the Nanny. A household policy can also be extended to include any personal belongings of the Live-in type of Nanny. Nannies expect at least one full day off per week and one weekend free per month. However, most Nannies have every weekend free. They also expect to have all statutory holidays, as well as a minimum of two weeks paid holiday.

Application process/Service fees
Upon receipt of the Application Form, the details and requests are thoroughly assessed and carefully matched with those of our Nannies, until the family is able to make a choice. We also arrange for families to interview the selected Nanny in their own home so that the whole family gets to know the Nanny before the placement. This is in line with the main aim of the Nanny Service, which is organizing placements that are pleasurable for both, the families and the Nannies.

A1 KidsCare UK offers highly competitive prices, starting from as low as £75 for a one-off service fee, according to the type of Nanny service required.

2 most FAQs
What exactly does a check tell me about the Nanny?
The result confirms whether the Nanny has been barred from working with children. The lists held by the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Employment contain names of individuals who have been excluded by Social Services, the Health Service, education establishments and so on. The check also confirms whether the person has been barred as a result of work as a volunteer - this information can easily be omitted from a CV and no easy means of tracing volunteers exist.

Is this the same as a police check?
No, a police check shows whether a person has been convicted of a crime and not all inappropriate behaviours are criminal.

Customer testimonials

What a wonderful service! I never thought that I would be able to work full-time, be a mum to 3

children, and still have enough time and energy to enjoy my hobbies and go out with my husband and friends.
Mrs Judith McGREGOR, Peterborough

Only 3 months after Elisabeth started looking after our children, they have grown so attached to her that now they see her as a member of family and just love spending time with her. She is exactly what we wanted. Thank you so much for recommending her to us.
Mrs Pamela RICHARDS, London

Thank you for everything you have done for us.
Mrs Amarjit Khan, West Midlands

I LOVE MY NANNY. SHES THE BEST!
